Breakfast Club

In April 2007, Saltwood Play and Learning Centre opened the first Breakfast Club at Saltwood School available to school age children. After 3 years in the Deedes Room of the school itself, the club now runs from the new SPLC building, just off the playground, with its own access from School Road

The club is open from 7.45am at a cost of £2.75 per session and is supervised by a qualified nurse called Breda along with up to 3 assistants each morning. There is no supervision in the playground until 8.40am so it means that early risers are well looked after until then.

Due to popular demand, it is no longer possible to turn up on the day! All bookings must be made in advance. Please call 01303 238712 and speak to Breda or Kate or drop in/leave a message in the Centre building any time between 7.45 and 6pm. Discounts are available for siblings who attend regularly.

While the children wait for their breakfast, there are plenty of activities available from drawing and Lego to games on the laptops and there are plenty of books and puzzles too. Even finishing your homework is allowed!

You can use the club regularly on certain days of the week or just on an adhoc basis when the need arises - everyone is welcome.

If you are unsure if your child will like the club and are thinking of using it, bring them along for a taster session (Mondays or Fridays are the quietest days) which you can book in the SPLC office or school office during opening hours.

Feedback

The feedback we have had from the children so far has been that the food is fantastic and Breda really takes great pride in providing for them. Every day there are different healthy options from fresh raspberries and bagels to boiled eggs and bacon with daily regulars of cereals, toast and juice too for the less adventurous. From time to time special theme days are organised e.g. a French day when pain au chocolates and croissants were served.
